Twin Vacuum Unit
(Multi operation or particular need extra power for long transport)
Product descriptionThe FC 2x1250m3/h vacuum unit is constructed for use in cleaning operations on rig/platform or vessel.
The unit is intended to service 2 locations simultaneously or the 2 ea pumps can run in parallel in specially demanding cleaning jobs (example cleaning of the waste tanks), this will generate approx. 2000m3/h in parallel.
The vacuum unit is located on the cuttings skip deck (ref SoW for the installation requirements)
The general working principleThe vacuum is generated by the use of a Liquid ring pump, this pump type is the optimal type for generating good airflow (speed) with minimal amount of power, this pump is 6-8 times more effective compared to air driven vacuum units (venturie) hence using a lot less power than the air driven units that require huge amount of air (generated in compressors that consumes a lot of fuel).
The liquid ring pump will then generate vacuum inside the 1m3 tank that again are connected to the suction inlet of the vacuum unit (quick connector in container bulkhead).
All slop/slurry that is vacuum conveyed into the buffer tank will automatically be discharged by the use of an 80mm peristaltic pump.
In case of accumulated cuttings in the bottom of the vacuum tank (peristaltic pump will discharge all particles above 25mm), the unit will automatically turn the flow direction of the vacuum pumps and a separate "blow clean" outlet routed for blowing this to either slop tank or to the shakers (can be selected)
Water supply will be connected to the vessel drill water supply (can also use seawater)
If the water temperature in the holding tank exceeds the limit in the plc then the unit automatically opens water supply from the vessel to cool down the water, excessive water will be drained to the vacuum tank for disposal.
When the unit is stopped the liquid system automatically drains out excessive fluid from the pump, if water supply to the unit stops the unit will also stop and initiate alarm in the main control system, also the unit will not start if there is no water in the water expansion tank (level sensors)
