Fluid Control Service AS, A part of BR Industries Confident for Upturn in 2017
Fluid Control Service AS (FCS), a Norwegian service provider for flow control products, custom built HP systems and fabrication services for the oil and gas industry has reported optimism heading into 2017. This comes in the wake of re-established key contracts with major players on the NCS.
In January, FCS had a busier than expected month with all departments, manufacturing (machine shop activity), fabrication with deliveries of custom made ‘Bazookas’ and stainless steel pup joints and also service workshop with recertification work for manifolds, ABPAs, HP hoses reporting increased activity.
In sales and rental activities FCS had experienced a significant drop last year. Supply and demand has started to balance and the company expects oil prices to strengthen and an upturn in terms of activity as FCS slowly starts to observe improvement signals.
Tor-Atle Deisz, CEO of both FCS and Hitec Products announced that Hitec Products (sister company
) shall move into part of the FCS facilities in March 2017. Following the recent purchase of Fluid Control entity by Hitec Products AS, FCS has restructured and streamlined its operations thereby decreasing costs and increasing efficiency. Functions such as IT, HSE, Finance and HR are consolidated with Hitec Products. Both companies will benefit in facility cost reductions and overall increased purchasing power.
More importantly, both companies have growing revenue synergies including access to new markets, selling and marketing complementary products and cross selling into new customer base. Although like many others FCS has been forced to reduce the workforce we still believe that as the industry picks up we are in a firm position to ramp up operations.
‘Apart from being efficient and leaner, FCS has also become extremely innovative. The company has exciting plans for connected, smarter solutions with Hitec Products’ says Tor-Atle.
Tor-Atle also annouced FCS had recently completed its audit process re-establishing it’s certification.
